DUBLIN, Ohio -- Jackson Koivun of Auburn continues to add to his impressive collegiate honors on Sunday, being named winner of the Division I Jack Nicklaus Award as national collegiate Player of the Year at Muirfield Village Golf Club, joining Phil Mickelson of Arizona State and Georgia Tech’s Bryce Molder as the only players in the top division to win the honor twice. (Koivun also earned the honor in 2024.)

Koivun, a junior, is coming off a season in which he won six times and led the Tigers to the NCAA title. Other winners of the annual award were Max Barile of Florida Southern in Division II, Jonathan McEwen of Washington and Lee in Division III, Iver Sokhan-Sanj of Keiser in NAIA and and Abe Bignell of McLennan at the NJCAA level. Each recipient was presented his award on Sunday by Nicklaus prior to the final round of the Memorial Tournament.

Koivun previously received the 2026 Ben Hogan Award, joining Jon Rahm and Ludvig Åberg as the third golfer to win the Hogan Award twice. McEwen also is a repeat recipient of the Nicklaus Award, claiming the honor in 2025.

The highly decorated amateur earned exemptions into the U.S. Open in two weeks at Shinnecock Hills and next month’s Open Championship at Royal Birkdale as winner of the Mark McCormack Medal. Koivun played in seven PGA Tour events last season as an amateur, making the cut in six of them—including three top-10 finishes.
