Texas catcher Carson Tinney, a junior and first-year starter for the Longhorns after transferring to Austin from Notre Dame last offseason, is among the finalists for this year’s Buster Posey Award—the honor given to the top catcher in college baseball each season. It’s the second consecutive season in which Tinney has been named a finalist for the coveted accolade.

In his first season with the Longhorns, Tinney was also named second team All-SEC. He’s currently fifth all-time in home runs at Texas, with 21 to his name so far this baseball season.
