The Washington Commanders continue to evaluate wide receivers in the 2026 NFL Draft. With the No. 7 overall pick, Washington is in a good position to get quarterback Jayden Daniels and wide receiver Terry McLaurin some help.

According to Washington insider Ben Standig, the Commanders are expected to host Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson on an official top 30 pre-draft visit. While the date of his visit to Washington is unknown, Tyson is scheduled to hold a workout for NFL teams on April 17. This workout is a result of Tyson being unable to compete at the 2026 NFL combine or at Arizona State's pro day.

Tyson's problem isn't talent. It's health. At 6-foot-2, 203 pounds, Tyson has the size, hands, athleticism and route running to be an NFL star, but he missed time in each collegiate season. He had a breakout year in 2024, catching 75 passes for 1,101 yards and 10 touchdowns. However, he was sidelined late in the year with a broken collarbone. Last season, Tyson caught 61 passes for 711 yards and eight touchdowns, but missed time with a hamstring injury.

Washington has shown interest in Tyson throughout the pre-draft process, including an interview at the NFL combine, which impressed Tyson.

"I don't know if I'm supposed to say this, but, to be honest, the Commanders. The format they had, the way they did it, kudos to them to be honest with you. The way they formatted it and the way they did it," Tyson said when asked by Josina Anderson which meeting stood out the most.

"They were just pulling up pictures and what have you, and what it means to you and stuff like that. And then the receiver coach had another picture and walk through it with us and stuff like that. So, just the format of it, so kudos to them."

Tyson also suffered a serious knee injury in 2022, his lone year at Colorado.

If Tyson didn't have an injury history, there's a good chance it would be him, not Carnell Tate, becoming the first wide receiver drafted. His workout this week could go a long way in determining how high he'll be picked in next week's first round.
