No. 6 seed Tennessee (25-11) will play No. 1 seed Michigan (34-3) Sunday in the Elite Eight of the 2026 NCAA Tournament.

Sunday will mark the 13th basketball meeting between the two schools.

Graduate student forward Yaxel Lendeborg is in his first season at Michigan.

Lendeborg was named Big Ten Player of the Year in 2026 and was a First-Team All-Big Ten selection. He was also a member of the Big Ten All-Defensive Team.

Lendeborg averaged 14.9 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 2.1 blocks and 0.7 steals per game, while playing 30.3 minutes per contest. He appeared in 37 games, including 36 starts.

Lendeborg previously played at UAB from 2023-25. With the Blazers, he was a two-time First-Team All-AAC performer (2024-25) and a two-time AAC Defensive Player of the Year. Lendeborg was named AAC Tournament Most Valuable Player in 2024.

He began his collegiate career at Arizona Western Community College from 2020-23.
