A rematch between former Rizin FF champions and current UFC contenders Manel Kape and Kyoji Horiguchi is set to headline a UFC Fight Night event at the Meta Apex on June 20. Kape on Tuesday revealed the news to MMA Junkie, which was subsequently confirmed by a person with knowledge of the situation.
Kape (22-7 MMA, 7-3 UFC) was last seen in action in December when he became the first to knock out long-time contender Brandon Royval. The victory, which earned him a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus, put him on a three-fight winning streak and 7-1 in his past eight bouts.
Horiguchi (36-5 MMA, 9-1 UFC) is having quite the run in his UFC return. After being almost 10 years removed from his first stint, the Japanese star made his return to the octagon in late 2025 and has since picked up a stoppage win over Tagir Ulambekov and, most recently, a decision win over Amir Albazi.
Kape and Horiguchi first fought in 2017 under the Rizin FF banner in Japan. Horiguchi defeated Kape by arm-triangle submission as part of the 2017 Rizin Bantamweight Grand Prix Semifinal.
