CLEVELAND — From Funkytown to Titletown.
Jax Forrest finished off his undefeated season — or semester, after enrolling at OSU midyear — with a 5-2 decision over second-seeded Ben Davino of Ohio State in the 133-pound NCAA wrestling title match Saturday night at Rocket Arena.

It concluded an 18-0 season for the true freshman, following teammate Sergio Vega (24-0) as the only true freshmen to go undefeated and win NCAA titles since 1947.
The first period went by without any scoring, then Davino escaped in the second, but not before being hit with a stall warning.
Forrest escaped to tie the score early in the third, and quickly after, hit his first attack of the match for a takedown.
