The New England Patriots pass rush could still use some help, and there are some veteran free agents still available.

The Patriots had just 35 sacks in the regular season last season. They lost K'Lavon Chaisson, but replaced him with Dre'Mont Jones. The two had similar production last season, so it's hard to say the pass rush has gotten better. The NFL Draft could yield the Patriots a young pass rusher, but they may want to invest in a veteran to play until a rookie is ready for a starter's workload.

The Patriots are picking at No. 31, so they may not get a pass rusher that's polished enough to dominate right away. They could benefit from signing a veteran like Jadeveon Clowney.

Clowney is going into his 13th season and played 13 games for the Dallas Cowboys last season. Clowney had 8.5 sacks last season, which would have been tied for the team lead on the Patriots. Clowney started just six games and played just 373 snaps. He ended up having a great season, but with Rashan Gary now on the team, the Cowboys do not need Clowney.

Clowney is a three-time Pro Bowler and has 66.5 career sacks. He has not really lived up to the expectations set for him as a No. 1 overall pick in 2014. However, he has carved outa a nice career and is still looking for his first Super Bowl win. He would be an inexpensive signing and could serve as part of the Patriots' pass rush rotation.
