It was a group effort from the pitching the staff. The group only allowed one run on six hits with 15 strikeouts and three walks. It was a welcome sight from what we have been seeing so far. Here are three takeaways from the game.

Great game from Omar Serna Jr.

Omar Serna Jr. was the leading hitter for the Tigers, finishing the night 2-for-5 from the plate with a homer. Between Serna and Arrambide, the catchers on the team have had to put in a lot of work to try to fill holes in the batting order. Tonight, Serna did a great job of that.

Pitching staff was solid

The pitching staff was able to hold Grambling to only one run tonight on six hits, 15 strikeouts, and three walks. It was a nice change from the double-digit run games we have seen the staff give up lately.

Nice bounce back for Cooper Williams

Cooper Williams had a rough Friday night in Nashville, giving up four runs on four hits while he was unable to record an out. His ERA has flown up to 9.35 for the season. He showed a nice bounce back tonight, earning a win against Grambling and striking out three of the four hitters he faced.
