Baltimore Ravens head coach Jesse Minter made the media rounds at the NFL Combine, including an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. McAfee asked about owner Steve Bisciotti, what the interview process was like, and why Bisciotti ultimately chose Minter to lead the franchise and quarterback Lamar Jackson.
Minter didn't hesitate when asked about Bisciotti's role in the process, offering strong praise for the Ravens' owner and the culture he has built in Baltimore.

"Yeah, I mean, number one, I think he's the best owner in sports. Um, he creates an environment where you're always going to be, you know, doing what's needed to be successful. So there's there's not any amount of money he's not willing to spend. Any type of thing you need that you think might help you be better, uh he's providing. So, um, and then through the interview process, I think there was a little bit of, you know, this guy understands the foundation that's been built here, but he's also now been out on his own and has some different ideas of how to um, you know, bring bring a few new things while also understanding and respecting the history, how it's been built, why it's been built a certain way. Uh, and so we certainly want to lean into that. We want to lean into what's been really good there. But I also think u just having a younger, newer, fresher thing sometimes, you know, people embrace change."
McAfee then shifted the conversation to Jackson, pointing out how rare it is to take over a team that already has a franchise quarterback in place. Minter's tone made it clear he understands exactly what that means.
“It's pretty amazing to be the head coach of a team with Lamar Jackson.”
When asked how coaching Jackson motivates and inspires him, Minter expanded on what having a player of that caliber demands from the entire organization.
"I would say it's certainly motivating um to number one build a team that allows him to to have success at the level that he's chasing. He there's nothing more that he would rather do than to bring a championship to Baltimore. Um, and so when you know that he's your quarterback, you always have a chance. Motivating to build a great defense, motivating to hire a great offensive staff, motivating to build a great special teams, uh, so that the team around him is is, you know, up to his level."

Minter's message was clear: the foundation in Baltimore isn't changing, but the energy around it is. With Steve Bisciotti's backing and Lamar Jackson under center, the expectations remain championship-level. For Minter, it's about respecting what's been built while pushing it forward. And if his words at the Combine were any indication, he understands exactly what the job demands — and the opportunity in front of him.
