Girls basketball: Bishop Kenny survives, Tocoi Creek, Bolles win

Battered by injuries and drained by fatigue, top seed Bishop Kenny found a way to survive.

Sienna Williams converted the game-winning free throws with 2.1 seconds remaining and Bishop Kenny held off a determined Ribault 45-43 in the Florida High School Athletic Association Region 1-4A girls basketball second round on Feb. 20.
Williams was dribbling to her left just beyond the three-point arc with the score tied 43-43 when officials whistled the foul to leave the Trojans stunned. Bishop Kenny's Makala DesJarlais then extinguished Ribault's last hope, stealing the last inbound pass as the clock struck zero.
Bishop Kenny, which had to play without top scorer Kathleen Crawley and forward Khloe Small for portions of the fourth quarter with injuries, advances to meet Tallahassee Rickards or Fort Walton Beach.
The 12-time champion Trojans (18-9), who had beaten the Crusaders 48-43 in their most recent meeting in the 2024-25 season, battled from behind to take a 41-40 lead on Trinity Berry's 3-pointer with just over two minutes left.
After Bishop Kenny (25-4) moved in front on Crawley's jumper and a Shea Donovan free throw, Aniya McCreary tied it for the Trojans from a shot along the baseline with 20.2 seconds left.
Led by Kamya Leroy (20 points), Ribault built a quick 10-2 lead before the Crusaders launched a 17-0 run. Crawley scored 14 to lead Bishop Kenny.
REGION 1-6A
Tocoi Creek's big three of Audrey Beyer (21 points), Gabi Iturralde (15 points) and Asiana McCreary (14 points) came through again in a 60-51 victory over visiting Lake Howell.
The Toros (23-6) started fast with a 19-point fourth quarter to return to the final eight. Seriyah Savain scored 16 and Skii Fournier had 13 for Lake Howell (23-6).
REGION 1-5A
Jocelyn Hoffmann scored 22 points and Chloe Spencer-Gardner provided 12 as Ponte Vedra emerged on top in a showdown of sophomore-led squads, 70-61 against visiting Orange Park (21-8).
Freshman Audra Davis also scored 12 for the Sharks (23-6), who built a 13-point halftime lead and survived a Raider rally. Trinity Dinkins scored 17 points and Ella Crowe contributed 12 for Orange Park.
The Sharks next face Pensacola Washington (21-3), which rolled 66-30 against Beachside in the Panhandle. The Barracudas finish at 13-12.
REGION 1-3A
Outside shooting ace Presley Norman delivered a game-high 25 points for Bolles, pulling away in the second half to defeat Jackson 54-30.
Evie Freeman scored 10 for Bolles (24-4), the top seed and 2025 state runner-up, setting up a regional against Newberry or South Walton. Madison Holmes-Price led with 10 for Gateway Conference champion Jackson (17-12).
REGION 1-2A
Providence stayed in the hunt for a repeat regional championship, winning 58-35 against visiting Bishop Snyder (16-12). The Stallions (21-5) are aiming for a fourth consecutive final four trip.
They next meet San Jose Prep (19-9) in an all-Jacksonville regional final, after the Storm won 48-42 against Orlando First Academy (11-18).
REGION 3-R
Mark down Hilliard as Northeast Florida's first team to punch its ticket for the FHSAA final four at the University of North Florida.
Alyssa Hallman and Reah Saunders triggered an 11-0 run midway through to spark the Red Flashes to a 56-37 victory over visiting Fort White (17-10).
Hilliard (24-5), into the final four for the second consecutive year, plays a Rural Class semifinal on Feb. 24 in Jacksonville.
