It is far too early to tell how the 2027 NFL Draft will play out, but pundits are already speculating about who the Kansas City Chiefs may take in the first round of the Annual Player Selection Meeting next April.
According to Athlon Sports’ Luke Easterling, the Chiefs could opt to pick Louisiana State University tight end Trey’Dez Green with the No. 25 selection in Round 1.

“Travis Kelce is an annual rental at this point, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see one of the most prolific tight ends in NFL history call it a career after this season,” Easterling wrote in a recent mock draft. “Green is a towering target with impressive athleticism for his size, giving him tons of upside as a pass-catching weapon at the next level. He could be a dangerous addition to a Kansas City offense that already has some explosive playmakers for Patrick Mahomes.”
Green earned second-team All-SEC honors in 2025, tallying 33 receptions for 433 yards and seven touchdowns in 2025. The Zachary, Louisiana native will need to build on his outstanding sophomore campaign to continue trending as a potential first-round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft.
