Crissy Froyd Stunned by Other NFL Media’s Silence on Dianna Russini-Mike Vrabel Scandal

NFL writer Crissy Froyd has become one of the few media figures willing to talk publicly about the Dianna Russini-Mike Vrabel controversy and ask the tough questions. Froyd, an ex-USA TODAY Sports reporter, was fired in April after criticizing Russini over photos of the former NFL insider with the New England Patriots head coach.

In a recent conversation with Mike J. Asti, Froyd revealed that she was taken aback by the major media outlets’ lack of coverage of the scandal involving Vrabel and Russini.

Crissy Froyd Didn’t Expect To Go Viral Over Comments on Dianna Russini-Mike Vrabel Scandal

During the conversation with Asti, Froyd admitted she had never expected her comments about Russini to receive so much attention.

“It caught me off guard because I never expected this to happen,” Froyd said. “I thought that everyone, since all these people knew, and all these people told me from the time that I first hit the ground in the NFL. I was like, ‘Okay, everyone’s saying stuff, or at least I thought so.'”

Instead, she was surprised by what she viewed as widespread silence.

Froyd described how her original post exploded online, generating millions of views and prompting interview requests from multiple media outlets, but she believed there must be others discussing Russini’s resignation. However, that wasn’t the case.

“It took me several days to realize that I literally was one of the only ones after she submitted that,” Froyd said. “I was like, this is insane.”

“I wake up the next day, and I talked to my friend, and she was like, ‘This is everywhere,'” Froyd added. “Then I started getting statement requests from Complex, E! News, The New York Post…”

The former reporter has remained outspoken in the months since. A few days back, she called out The Athletic’s Mike Silver for liking her “bikini photos.”

Froyd has also made broader allegations about relationships between other NFL reporters and league personnel. Appearing on “The Howard Eskin Show” on June 7, Froyd was asked how many female reporters had allegedly engaged in conduct similar to that alleged against Russini. “There are at least six that I know of,” Froyd said.

She later suggested there were additional details she could not discuss publicly. “To avoid any legal dispute, I can’t say any more than that,” she added. “One of them starts with a J.”

In an article for the Daily Mail column, Froyd wrote, “I’ve also been told by at least half a dozen female reporters that they have had sex with NFL staff and, in one case, a prominent NFL head coach, while they were covering the team.”

Nonetheless, without concrete proof, these are currently just allegations made by Froyd.
