That means that whoever trades for Boston Red Sox closer Aroldis Chapman this summer, there's an incredible omen on their side.

Chapman has been traded in the middle of the season twice before.

In 2016, he went to the Chicago Cubs, and they snapped their 108-year drought and won the World Series.

Then in 2023, the Texas Rangers got Chapman during the summer and won the World Series, too.

Two midseason Chapman trades, two World Series titles.

Sounds like something that teams should be in on, huh?

MLB.com's Mark Feinsand writes in a new article that both the Seattle Mariners and Pittsburgh Pirates are fits for Chapman, as well as the Chicago White Sox.

With this World Series omen in mind, those teams should be even more interested in bringing Chapman aboard.

It doesn't hurt that he's been absurdly dominant this season despite pitching for a team that is crumbling.

"The ageless left-hander continues to dominate at age 38, posting a 0.44 ERA in his first 21 appearances while converting all 14 save opportunities this season," Feinsand writes.

Those numbers are hard to do any better.

Seattle and Pittsburgh should both be ringing Boston's phone as much as possible.
