The New Orleans have made it clear that they’re open for business regarding a potential trade centered on their 6-foot-8 stud forward Trey Murphy.

Per a Monday afternoon report from NBA insider Evan Sidery, New Orleans is fielding offers for the 21.5 points per game scorer. Sidery noted that ideally, the Pelicans would like to receive a combination of first-round picks, prospects, and an immediate contributor in return for Murphy.

In Sidery’s recent Murphy-Golden State Warriors trade proposal, New Orleans would land a relatively solid haul, as they would receive Golden State’s underrated $57 million wing duo in addition to an upcoming lottery pick, a future pick swap and a future first-round selection.

“A potential trade framework between the Pelicans and Warriors for Trey Murphy III: Golden State: Murphy New Orleans: Brandin Podziemski, Moses Moody, No. 11 overall, 2027 swap, 2028 1st,” Sidery wrote on X/Twitter Wednesday.

Unfortunately for Moody, he suffered a season ending torn patellar tendon injury in March, making it impossible for him to finish his most productive NBA campaign yet.

The Arkansas product was among the Dubs’ most prolific perimeter shooters this year, connecting on 40.1% of his triples in 60 contests (bumping his career three-point shooting percentage to 37.8%).

Podziemski was also a highly valuable role player with the Dubs this season, playing well when tasked with filling in for Stephen Curry and showing he can too can drill triples at an above average rate. The Santa Clara product contributed a career-best 13.8 points per contest while shooting 45.5% from the field and 37.1% from downtown.

Add in the draft capital the Pelicans would need to set themselves up for future success, and Sidery’s proposed deal would be a big-time win for the 26-win Western Conference squad looking to make impactful changes to their roster this summer.
