The news came late in the afternoon after the Senators made it official. Bakke Olsen spent the 2025-26 season with Linköping HC of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL).

The 24-year-old finished second on his team in points, with 11 goals and 21 assists for 32 points, in 52 games.

Bakke Olsen was a part of the Norwegian team at the World Championships last month in Switzerland that surprised everyone by beating Canada and won Bronze. In that tournament, he had two goals and three assists for five points in 10 games.

Before spending the last four seasons in Sweden. He played in Norway for Storhamar, which is his hometown team.

As he continues his career in North America with the Senators' organization, Bakke Olsen will have a chance to make the NHL roster out of training camp. If he fails to do so, he will report to Belleville and play in the American Hockey League (AHL) to start.
