Through it all, the coaching staff has remained steadfast in their execution of this quarterback competition and has provided little insight to the quarterback room until recently.

On Thursday, while speaking to the media, Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell shared that the competition between Kyler Murray and J.J. McCarthy will extend into training camp next month.

The job wasn't expected to be decided in June, so this move makes sense. Most reports seem to signal that Murray is in the lead heading into camp, but McCarthy still has support and potential to earn the job.
