Weeks after Iowa Athletics announced that they had purchased the court used in the NCAA Tournament's South Region as a replacement for the aging Carver-Hawkeye Arena parquet floor, the Hawkeyes provided fans with an exciting update.

Iowa shared a look at the new court's installation as assembly crews continue to condition and decorate the surface in preparation for the men's and women's basketball seasons this fall.

While the parquet flooring will be removed for the first time since the arena opened in 1983, Iowa has promised that the new maple wood court's overall look will remain similar to the previous floor, with a few new design elements incorporated.

While the new court is a necessary change, one of the features that the university has promised to transfer onto the new surface is the "22" decal that commemorates Caitlin Clark's iconic 3-pointer that set the new Division I all-time scoring record.

That "22" decal will be in the same exact location as it was on the old parquet court.

While the full 2026-27 schedules for both the men's and women's basketball programs have yet to be released, the first game the Hawkeyes will officially play on the new surface is expected in early November.
