A 31-year-old man caught “driving while disqualified” in North York faces more than a dozen charges after cops seized a loaded gun, drugs and more than $180,000 in cash.
Toronto Police allege the accused was spotted behind the wheel of a vehicle “multiple times” between March 9 and May 17 despite being disqualified from operating a motor vehicle under the criminal code of Canada.
Two search warrants were subsequently executed at a residence and a storage locker near Jane St. and Finch Ave. W., police said in a statement released Saturday.
“It is further alleged that officers located and seized fraudulent license plates, a firearm, a quantity of illegal drugs, over 170 rounds of .22 caliber ammunition, an extended magazine containing 31 rounds of 9mm ammunition, a starter pistol, an expandable baton and over $180,000 in Canadian currency,” police said.
Sensombo Nop was arrested on June 2.
The Toronto resident is charged with three counts of operating a conveyance while prohibited; two counts of uttering a forged document; two counts of unlawfully possessing counterfeit mar; two counts of possessing identity information for a fraudulent purpose; unauthorized possession of a firearm; possession of a loaded, prohibited or restricted firearm; two counts of careless storage of a firearm, weapon or prohibited device; four counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking; possession for the purpose of selling cannabis; possession of proceeds obtained by crime over $5000; unlawfully producing a schedule I substance; possession of prohibited weapon; and use/store ammunition carelessly.
