The series will mark the start of a busy white-ball schedule for the Men in Blue in the second half of 2026 as India prepares for the next ODI World Cup, which is scheduled to happen in Africa in 2027.
On Saturday, the BCCI announced that Virat Kohli had pulled out of the ODI series against Afghanistan due to a hamstring injury he picked up during RCB's title-run. Yashasvi Jaiswal has replaced him in the ODI squad.
