India unlikely to accept 'any third-party involvement' in the India-Nepal boundary issue given its long-standing bilateral policy framework?
As per sources within the MEA, India has firmly rejected any suggestion of third-party involvement in resolving the ongoing boundary differences with Nepal, reiterating its consistent position that such matters are best addressed through established bilateral mechanisms. Official sources indicate that New Delhi has taken note of recent remarks from Kathmandu hinting at possible British engagement, but the Ministry of External Affairs has not endorsed any such proposal and doesn't plan to signal any change from its long standing policy of bilateral engagement. As per sources any deviation irrespective of motives is purely heresy.
India continues to approach the issue within the framework of its “Neighbourhood First” policy, emphasizing dialogue, mutual sensitivity, and respect for sovereignty. The government maintains that its engagement with Nepal remains rooted in historical ties, institutional channels, and diplomatic consultations that have traditionally guided dispute resolution between the two countries.
Non-aggression and mutual respect remain central pillars of India’s approach toward Nepal, with officials underscoring that both sides have sufficient diplomatic maturity to handle differences without external mediation. New Delhi’s stance reflects a broader policy preference against internationalizing bilateral disputes, particularly within the South Asian region, where India has consistently advocated direct engagement as the most effective path forward.

IAS Nitin Kumar Yadav Gets Extended Multi-PSU CMD Role within Ministry of Commerce and Industry
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has extended the tenure of Nitin Kumar Yadav in his additional charge as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of MMTC Limited, PEC Limited, and STC Limited for a further period of one year, reinforcing continuity across three key state-run trading enterprises.
Yadav, a senior IAS officer, will continue to simultaneously steer the strategic and operational direction of these public sector undertakings, each of which plays a critical role in India’s foreign trade architecture. His extended mandate comes at a time when the government is recalibrating its approach to trading PSUs amid evolving global trade dynamics, supply chain realignments, and domestic policy priorities.
The decision signals institutional confidence in Yadav’s administrative leadership and his ability to manage complex, multi-entity responsibilities. It also underscores a broader trend of consolidating oversight in select sectors to drive efficiency and policy coherence.
With this extension, Yadav’s role becomes central to shaping the future trajectory of India’s state-run trading ecosystem, particularly as questions around restructuring, disinvestment, or revival of these entities continue to remain under policy consideration.
