Five football players and one soccer player were honored.

The recipients ranged from in-city and as far out as Long County.

  • Joshua Washington (Benedictine)
  • Raleigh Wesley (Bethesda)
  • Liv Rotker (Woodville-Tompkins)
  • Demetrius Holloway (Jenkins)
  • Tusiofo Tiapula (Long County)
  • Gary Maxwell (Savannah)

“I’m honored to be given a scholarship by a club like this, the quarterback club,” Washington said. “Just my dad being a part of it, it means a lot more to be able to receive this scholarship.”

Raleigh Wesley, who was a part of this year’s state championship team for Bethesda, added, “I was shocked because I work hard for this and my previous teammates have [received this award in the past]. I was like, hey, what I got to do to get there? And I made it.”
