Report: Giannis Boston Celtics trade interest confirmed; ATL, HOU, POR want Jaylen Brown

Just when you thought that the rumors about a trade of Milwaukee Bucks star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Boston Celtics might die down, new reporting from the Stein Line founder Marc Stein has relit the fuse once again. Per Stein, the recently reported interest of the Greek Freak in joining the Celtics is indeed legit per his own sources. "I've heard something similar from a few different teams since the Chicago draft combine: Miami and Boston are increasingly perceived to be the potential trade destinations that currently — underline currently — most intrigue Milwaukee's Antetokounmpo," relates Stein.

It remains unclear if that interest is one-sided, however. "It is unclear, as Simmons noted during that podcast alongside Rob Mahoney, how much reciprocal Giannis interest Boston holds at this juncture," suggests the Stein Line reporter. He also notes that the Portland Trail Blazers, Atlanta Hawks, and Houston Rockets all have interest in trading for star Celtics forward Jaylen Brown, the most common target in such hypothetical moves.
"The Celtics indeed checked in with Milwaukee on Antetokounmpo before the February trade deadline when the Bucks were briefly open to fielding trade offers for their Face of the Franchise," he continued. "And lead decision-maker Brad Stevens, as we noted in this cyberspace last Sunday, has publicly lamented the fact that Boston's roster doesn't boast anyone putting pressure on the rim like Giannis could."
"But Boston would almost certainly have to part with Jaylen Brown in a three-team (or more) trade scenario to win The Giannis Sweepstakes. Does Stevens really want to go that far?"
We may soon find out.
