History.

Make that District 10 history for Cathedral Prep’s 2026 boys tennis team. Before those Ramblers, no male program from northwestern Pennsylvania claimed a PIAA championship.

Prep, coached by Pat Grab, achieved that unprecedented feat on May 16.

The district’s top seed in the state’s Class 2A tournament returned to campus with that specific title trophy thanks to a 3-0 sweep of the District 4 Jersey Shore Bulldogs at Hershey Racquet Club.

Charbel Moubarak (No. 2 singles), Arjun Noticewala (No. 3 singles) and the duo of Joe Prichard and Chris Scott (No. 1 doubles) were responsible for the team points that clinched the title Prep (18-3),

Gavin Ferretti (No. 1 singles) and the duo of Sam English and Clark Brown (No. 2 doubles) also started for the Ramblers. Their matches were stopped when Prep’s state victory was assured.

Prep’s appearance marked the third time a district team reached a PIAA boys final for a format it began in 2001. The 2010 Fairview Tigers (2A) were first, followed by Prep in 2024.

Neither, though, converted their opportunity the way the current Ramblers did. They also defeated two formerly undefeated opponents over two days of matches at Hershey.

Prep eliminated Wyoming Seminary (16-1) in the quarterfinals. Jersey Shore was 21-0 going into the final.
