Archean Chemical Q4 Profit Drops 77% To ₹122 Million Amid Logistics & Bromine Challenges

Mumbai: Archean Chemical Industries Ltd reported a sharp 77.2 percent year-on-year decline in consolidated profit after tax to Rupees 122.3 million for Q4 FY26, impacted by higher logistics costs, bromine production disruptions, and weaker industrial salt performance. Consolidated total income for the March quarter fell 13.3 percent to Rupees 3,063.3 million from Rupees 3,533.8 million in the corresponding quarter last year. Sequentially, revenue improved 17.1 percent from Rupees 2,615.2 million reported in Q3 FY26.

For the full financial year FY26, consolidated total income rose 2.8 percent to Rupees 11,080 million compared with Rupees 10,783 million in FY25. However, annual profitability weakened significantly with PAT declining 35 percent to Rupees 1,054.1 million from Rupees 1,621.4 million in the previous year.

Quarterly EBITDA declined 48.9 percent year-on-year to Rupees 490.8 million from Rupees 961 million in Q4 FY25, while EBITDA margin contracted to nearly 16 percent from over 27 percent a year earlier. Profit before tax fell 78.8 percent to Rupees 158.6 million during the quarter. The company attributed the weak performance primarily to moderation in the industrial salt business and technical downtime in the bromine segment.
Archean Chemical said exports contributed nearly 78 percent of FY26 operating revenue, and continued geopolitical disruptions increased freight costs and transit times. The company also highlighted operational challenges arising from a Gujarat government road repair notification, which increased transportation distances by 50-100 percent, alongside rising fuel prices during the peak logistics season.

Semiconductor And Battery Expansion Plans Advance
During the quarter, Archean’s semiconductor subsidiary SiCSem Private Ltd executed a Fiscal Support Agreement with the India Semiconductor Mission under the Semicon India Programme. The company is developing an integrated silicon carbide semiconductor fab and ATMP facility in Odisha with a planned annual wafer capacity of 60,000 units.
The company also continued expanding its bromine derivatives and specialty mud chemicals businesses. Commercial operations at Idealis Mudchemie commenced at an initial scale, while the bromine derivatives subsidiary Acume Chemicals launched new products during FY26. The board recommended a final dividend of Rupees 2.50 per equity share of face value Rupees 2 each for FY26.
