Florida State to make strong push for in-state QB target
· Yahoo Sports
Florida State was one of the three finalists for 2027 blue-chip quarterback Wonderful Monds IV. Unfortunately, the Seminoles missed out on him as he committed to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Friday.
He was the Seminoles' top choice at the position for the cycle. However, they have switched their focus to another key target. According to Matt LaSerre of Warchant, FSU is expected to make a strong push to land three-star in-state quarterback Logan Flaherty.

The 6-foot-3, 185-pounder had been committed to UCF since last October, but he decommitted on April 21. Flaherty is very familiar with the Seminoles, as he took his first trip to Tallahassee in December of 2024. He visited Florida State three times in 2025, and he was recently on campus back in March.
“It was awesome to be back,” Flaherty said. “You know how it’s been, I’ve been here a lot of times. I really enjoy Florida State. I grew up watching FSU football. Both my parents graduated from here. It’s always a blessing to be back on campus.”
Flaherty is coming off a strong junior year at Port Charlotte High School. He threw for 2,636 yards and 27 touchdowns to seven interceptions. On the ground, Flaherty was effective as well with 595 yards and 11 scores.
Rivals' industry rankings have Flaherty as the No. 597 overall recruit and the nation's No. 38 quarterback. In the state of Florida, he's the No. 60 prospect.
