Prince Louis celebrates 8th birthday with new portrait

In keeping with royal tradition, the youngest child of the Prince and Princess of Wales is boasting a new portrait — and he’s looking all grown up.
Prince William and Princess Kate shared Louis’ latest birthday photo, as he celebrates eight years on Thursday.
The pic was taken earlier this month during a family vacation in seaside region of Cornwall, as evidenced by the water behind the young prince.
Photographer Matt Porteous snapped a beaming Louis in a blue three-quarter-zip sweater with his arms crossed and hair tussled from the wind.
“Happy birthday, Louis! 8 today!” William and Kate captioned the photo, which included a red balloon emoji.

The royal parents also showcased how much Louis appears to love the great outdoors in an Instagram video that ends with the youngster running along the beach towards the camera.
Porteous has shot a number of the Wales’ family events, including behind-the-scenes moments from Louis’ christening, but it was Kate who took Louis’ sixth birthday photo .
The Jersey-based photographer also took Prince George’s third and fifth birthday pics, as well as the family’s 2022 Christmas card .
Louis, officially known as His Royal Highness Prince Louis of Wales, was born at St. Mary’s Hospital in Paddington on April 23, 2018.
He is the couple’s third child after Prince George, 12, and 10-year-old Princess Charlotte, and is fourth in the line of succession to the throne.
He is also known as the most rambunctious of the siblings, as evidenced by his outings with the rest of the Royal Family.
All eyes were turned to the balcony of Buckingham Palace, in the 2022 event that would be Queen Elizabeth II’s final Trooping the Colour (and which also marked her Platinum Jubilee), but it was her great-grandson who inadvertently stole the show.
Louis’ animated expressions and reactions during the flypast and his carriage ride with his brother and sister may have been what cemented him as everyone’s favourite royal.
