During the first week of the 2026 NBA playoffs, the league announced a batch of award winners. Day by day. The 2025-26 regular season is now behind us, which means voting ballots have been turned in. The Oklahoma City Thunder were featured in another race.

The NBA announced on Wednesday that Keldon Johnson has won the 2025-26 Sixth Man of the Year award. He had 404 voting points — 63 first-place votes, 28 second-place votes and five third-place votes. Looking at the full voting results, Ajay Mitchell finished in fifth place.

Mitchell had four second-place votes and 17 third-place votes. That gardnered 29 voting points. Jaime Jaquez Jr. finished runner-up; Tim Hardaway Jr. was in third place; Naz Reid was in fourth place.

Mitchell enjoyed a breakout year. He averaged 13.6 points on 48.5% shooting, 3.6 assists and 3.3 rebounds. He played in 57 games and had 16 starts. For context, Sixth Man of the Year doesn't fall under the 65-game requirement rule.

Sitting atop the NBA standings, the Thunder were the league's best team. With that dominance comes accolades. Expect Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren to receive most of those nods this year as the league trickles out its award winners.
