Former Iowa State star Audi Crooks committed to Oklahoma State on Sunday, per On3.com, yet another major move in the portal for the Cowgirls.
A 6-foot-3 center, Crooks averaged 25.8 points and 7.7 rebounds while shooting 64.9% from the floor as a junior this past season.
Crooks was easily the most impactful player and most prominent name in the portal after a season in which she was named a second-team All-American by multiple outlets.
Hoyt’s previous portal additions had been heavy on perimeter players. And while Crooks doesn’t necessarily fit Hoyt’s preferred fast-paced style of play, the opportunity to add a future WNBA player is too rare to pass up.
The Cowgirls have also added some prominent guards in this portal class, led by Florida transfer Liv McGill of Florida, who averaged 22.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.7 assists last season. Additionally, Division II National Player of the Year Talexa Weeter committed to OSU from Fort Hays State, where she averaged 27.5 points per game last year.
