Two Oceans Marathon: All the road closures

The 2026 edition of the annual Two Oceans Marathon is set to take place this weekend.
Here, participants will take on one of two gruelling routes that will take them through Cape Town’s southern suburbs and Deep South.

As such, these events will affect and close several roads in the Mother City.
TWO OCEANS MARATHON: 56KM ULTRA
The 56km Ultra Marathon is set for Saturday, 11 April 2026.
Approximately 12 500 runners, which include six-time defending women’s champion Gerda Steyn, will depart from the corner of Main Road and Dean Street in Newlands. The finishing line is at the University of Cape Town’s rugby fields.

Notably, Chapman’s Peak will close tomorrow, Friday 10 April 2026, at 18:00 until 12:00 on Saturday.

The following day, Sunday 12 April 2026, the 21km Half Marathon will take place. It will also start in Newlands and end at the University of Cape Town’s rugby fields.
