While the Wolverines have been connected to some of the top transfer portal prospects just days after Michigan basketball won the national championship, Wake Forest guard Juke Harris and Kansas center Flory Bidunga have been the names most bandied about. But head coach Dusty May apparently works in silence, going out and getting a player he just saw a week and a half ago.
The maize and blue trounced Tennessee in the Elite Eight, but in the process, 6-foot-11 forward J.P. Estrella apparently liked what he saw. Coming off his third year, Estrella entered the transfer portal and committed to Michigan basketball and Dusty May on Thursday.

Estrella was ranked as a four-star in both recruiting and now in the transfer portal. In the portal, 247Sports has him as the No. 20 player overall, and the fourth-best power forward. He was listed as a center in the recruiting rankings, and certainly has the size to potentially fill that role with the Wolverines.
