The Wisconsin Badgers won big on April 1 as both Hunter and Reece Mallinger committed to the program.
It was no April Fool's joke; the two offensive linemen are commitments number six and seven for the Badgers' class of 2027.

All seven of the program's commits are Wisconsin natives, something that hasn't been the case in recent years. Now, Wisconsin has changed the way it targets recruits, and it's paid off big time.
Wisconsin has now landed four commitments since March 5. Verona native Ethan McIntosh was the first player to commit way back on November 12, 2025. Other than that, the program's other two recruits committed in January of 2026.
Barring any late changes, the Badgers know they have TE Korz Loken, OT Cole Reiter, IOL Hunter Mallinger, EDGE Isaac Miller, S Dustin Roach, OT Ethan McIntosh, and IOL Reece Mallinger all on the way.
The addition of the Mallinger twins boosted Wisconsin to a top-15 class in the country, according to 247Sports. At the time of writing, the Badgers currently have the No. 14-ranked class.
It'll take quite a few more big names to finish in the top 15, but this program is sitting pretty in early April. The only Big Ten schools with a higher ranking are Nebraska, Washington, USC, and Ohio State.
