The Boston Red Sox acquired Caleb Durbin from the Milwaukee Brewers this offseason, but he has not gotten off to a strong start to the season.

Durbin has started the season 0-for-14 after putting together a strong spring training. He has just one walk on the season as well. He was a great player for the Brewers last season, but NBC Sports Boston's Mike Felgner had some harsh words for the Red Sox and Durbin.

"Caleb Durbin? There's no ceiling on that player," Felgner said on Tuesday. "Unless you just look at the headline of Caleb Durbin, which is that he finished third in the Rookie of the Year balloting for Milwaukee, so you automatically think hot, developing prospect. Well, no, you've got to look at him. Look at his size. Look at his bat speed. Watch him. Could it just be that for a player who strung together a decent year on a team that really knows how to maximize young fringe talent, and that's what he is?

"Just because he was third in the Rookie of the Year balloting, you think he's got ceiling? That player has no ceiling... He might be a nice complementary player, and when he's getting on base, he's an effort guy and a toughness guy, and you like him on your time, but he has no ceiling as a high-end player. None."

The Red Sox acquired him in a six-player deal. He has big shoes to fill after Alex Bregman left for the Chicago Cubs. However, Felgner does not think he can ever be a player of that caliber.

Durbin slashed .256/.334/.387 last season and hit 11 home runs. He was a clutch hitter and hit .270 in his final 96 games of the regular season. There is still plenty of time for him to prove his value to the Red Sox.
