Wisconsin men’s basketball’s program exited the hardwood with a loss to No. 12 High Point on March 19, but Greg Gard's group boasts a relatively impressive resume against two of its conference foes during the 2025-26 campaign. Spearheaded by guards Nick Boyd and John Blackwell, Wisconsin owns three combined wins over Brad Underwood's Fighting Illini and Dusty May's Wolverines.

The run began on Jan. 10, when UW handed Michigan its first loss of the 2025-26 season with a nail-biting 91-88 road win. Blackwell and Boyd combined for 48 points in Ann Arbor in the Badgers' defining win of the season.

A month later, Wisconsin defeated Illinois 92-90 in overtime in Champaign. Boyd and Blackwell combined for 49, enough to overcome Big Ten Freshman of the Year and future lottery pick Keaton Wagler's 34 points.

Wisconsin followed its showing with another overtime win over the Illini, this time in the Big Ten Tournament. Boyd's 38 points and Blackwell's 31 powered the group over a well-rounded Illinois effort, but the Badgers would fall to the Wolverines 68-65 in the Big Ten Tournament semifinals on March 14.

While fans may be displeased with Wisconsin's recent string of performances in the NCAA Tournament, the Badgers' regular-season and conference tournament success against conference juggernauts is indisputable.

The NCAA Tournament continues with Duke vs. UConn at 4:10 p.m. CT, and the Final Four begins on April 4 in Indianapolis.
