Did Christian Gonzalez send Patriots cryptic message at Celtics game?

New England Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez turned heads when appearing on the Jumbotron at Wednesday's NBA game between the Boston Celtics and Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Pro Bowl defensive back rubbed his hands together and appeared to do a money gesture. Granted, there might not be any meaning behind the gesture whatsoever, but it came at a time when the Patriots are believed to be eyeing a potential massive contract extension for Gonzalez, who is entering the fourth year of his rookie deal.
The Patriots will have the chance to exercise his fifth-year option if they fail to agree on a deal this year. One would think the strategy for New England would be getting a deal done as quickly as possible, given the growing price that it might take to extend one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL.
And Gonzalez clearly knows his worth.

A recent report suggested that the Patriots had "preliminary conversations" with Gonzalez about a contract extension at the NFL Scouting Combine.
The team has clearly made re-signing their star defender a priority, and it's something they are already preparing for, according to Patriots executive vice president of player personnel Eliot Wolf.
“It's no secret we'd like to keep Christian Gonzalez and I don't know what the timing of that is, but that's something that certainly we're preparing for," Wolf told reporters.
