Three takeaways from LSU baseball's Game 3 win at Vanderbilt
· Yahoo Sports
LSU baseball came out swinging on Sunday in a pivotal win vs. Vanderbilt. The Tigers needed it after dropping a heartbreaker on Friday night and a lifeless loss on Saturday. LSU got the Game 3 win to avoid the sweep. While the pitching was not great again, the bats were able to keep LSU ahead the entire game for the win.
Jake Brown led the way once again as he finished the day 2-for-4 from the plate with a homer and six RBI. Cade Arrambide was right behind him, going 2-for-5 with a double and three RBI. Here are three takeaways from LSU baseball's Sunday win.

Where would LSU be without Jake Brown? The answer to that is, the Tigers might be in a worse spot than they already are to start the season. Brown currently leads the team with a .422 batting average. Vandy tried to fight back on multiple occasions today, but Brown answered with runs of his own to keep the lead.
I can't trust the bullpen
It does not matter how large the LSU lead is; we have not reached a point where I can trust that the bullpen will hold the lead. I just feel like at some point the dam is going to break and the other team is going to score four or more runs in one inning. LSU held a 6-1 lead that was wiped out in two innings. Then, when the Tigers had a five-run inning to take the lead back, the Commodores answered with three runs of their own to keep it close.

Chris Stanfield had a great day at the plate. He finished the game 2-for-4 with an RBI. He provided production at the bottom of the lineup that helped manufacture more runs at the top of the lineup.
