Aaron Gordon believes Dort 'flail' was another cheap shot on Jokic

Lu Dort admitted he crossed the line when he tripped Nikola Jokic in the fourth quarter of a tight battle between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Denver Nuggets on Feb. 27.

Then, less than two weeks later, he crossed that line again.

That's if you ask Aaron Gordon, who was in his second game back from a hamstring injury Monday night when Dort's arm cracked Jokic across the face while he was running around a pick. Dort was assessed a flagrant-1 for the play.

"A little bit. For sure," Gordon told FTW and USA TODAY Sports when asked whether it was a cheap shot. "But I didn't see it in the play. I saw it on the replay. I think it was a flail for sure. But Joker is just tough, man. He knew what was at stake and we had an opportunity to win the game, so he kept his composure. We're a very poised team."

Denver's poise gave the team an opportunity to win late, though Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's game-winning three-pointer in the final second dashed those hopes. The dramatic finish was the latest chapter in what's become a heated matchup since these teams went to seven games in last year's Western conference semifinals. However, Gordon said it's not a rivalry.

"Nah. We're only worried about the people that's in our locker room," Gordon said. "We care about our team and our team only. So, we don't really play into that rivalry stuff. We're just trying to beat everybody."
