Miles Nelen scored a team-high 19 points and Jackson Crisman scored 18 points and had 20 rebounds as top-seeded Cooperstown repeated as the Section III Class C boys basketball champions with a 74-51 win over No. 2 Cato-Meridian on Sunday, March 8, at SRC Arena at Onondaga Community College in Syracuse.
The Hawkeyes led at halftime, 35-22, but C-M made a third-quarter run and cut the lead to 52-46.

Cooperstown then held the Blue Devils to five fourth-quarter points to put the game away.
Dylan McGetrick led all scorers for 22 points for C-M, and he also had six assists. Perry Planck IV had nine points and nine rebounds, and Brody Smith scored eight points and had nine rebounds for C-M.
Nelen also had five assists and two steals.
Cooper Coleman scored 12 points and eight rebounds for the Hawkeyes, which also got seven points and three assists from Christian Lawson.
Cato-Meridian (21-3) lost twice to Cooperstown this season. The Hawkeyes beat C-M, 80-67, during the Dick White Holiday Tournament on Dec. 30, in Cooperstown’s Red Bursey Gymnasium.
Cooperstown (24-0) will play Section IV Class C winner Notre Dame in the region championship at 5 p.m., Sunday, March 15, at SRC Arena.
The Crusaders from Elmira beat Delaware Academy, 68-64, in overtime Saturday, March 7, in the section title game in Binghamton.
