Eagles expected to hire new assistant OLB coach
· Yahoo Sports
The Eagles aren’t done adding to their coaching staff for 2026 and are expected to hire Allen Smith as an assistant outside linebackers coach, according to CBS Sports.

Smith was the defensive line coach for Army for one season, and prior to that, was the DL coach for Georgia State from 2022 to 2024. He does have a dash of NFL experience as part of the Texans coaching staff in 2021 as an assistant defensive line coach, but was coaching at the collegiate level from 2012 to 2020.
He’s another young coach coming to Philadelphia, and will replace former Eagles assistant linebackers coach Ronnell Williams, who left for Las Vegas this offseason to be the Raiders LB coach.
This will be a good opportunity for Smith to get his foot in the door, and even though his role will be with the outside linebackers, he’ll be able to work alongside DL coach Clint Hurtt. With Hurtt interviewing for DC positions this offseason, the Eagles probably aren’t able to keep him in his current role for long — even if that means promoting him within the building once Vic Fangio retires.
