Jason Cundy was on TalkSport yesterday, previewing today’s game between Chelsea and Arsenal. He pointed to one thing he really wanted to see his former team do to counteract the Gunners’ strong suit at corners, free kicks and long throws.
“We know what Arsenal are going to do. What was interesting, actually, is we saw [Enzo] Maresca do it, and also Liam, is clear the box, and he left three [players] up,” Cundy said.
“I expect him to do the same, I’ll be disappointed if he doesn’t because Arsenal prey on chaos, they prey on bodies in the box and they’re very good at it.”

Cundy is talking about the aggressive defensive set piece setup which see the Blues leave three players forward at corners, forcing the Gunners to leave players back, clearing a huge amount of space in the box for Robert Sanchez to come and clear the ball.
It feels like the natural response to the Arsenal goalkeeper crowding strategy, and we would also like to see it repeated. We don’t have the players to take on the Gunners at their own game, so we need to try something different. Be brave, Liam!
In other news…
One big question for Rosenior is who he actually picks in his defence: none of his options are perfect.
