Our athlete of the week comes from one of just two Texoma girls basketball teams still alive in the postseason.
Saint Jo’s Kamron Skidmore was a menace on defense in two playoff wins last week, helping her Lady Panthers limit both Newcastle and Avery to just 27 points scored each. Meanwhile, offensively, she scored 22 points pulling down 14 rebounds dishing out four assists and recording seven steals.
Saint Jo is back in action Tuesday night facing Slocum in the regional semifinal round of the playoffs. The neutral site game is scheduled for 6pm at Rio Vista High School.
As part of earning Texoma’s athlete of the week honor, Kamron will be featured on the digital billboard on Lawrence Road in Wichita Falls throughout the week.
She also becomes eligible to win a scholarship courtesy of United Regional Orthopedics at the 2026 Nexstar Sports Awards in July.
