The Washington Commanders should be one of the most interesting teams to keep up with this spring. The team had a disappointing 2025 season and will aim to return to contention in 2026. The team already made some big changes to the coaching staff, and the roster should have plenty of turnover as well.
In the 2026 NFL Draft, the Commanders are slated to have the seventh pick. There are several directions the team could go with this pick, including an edge rusher, a linebacker, or another weapon for Jayden Daniels.
Interestingly, the top running back prospect in the class, Jeremiyah Love, recently appeared on "This is Football" with Kevin Clark, and made a notable comment about Daniels.
Clark asked Love who was the coolest person he saw at Radio Row during Super Bowl week. Love took a second to think before singling out Daniels.
"I've seen Jayden Daniels, that was cool. Great quarterback, he won the Heisman," Love explained.
Love tried to think of other names but stuck with Daniels as the coolest person he saw.
"I'm gonna stick with Jayden Daniels," said Love.

The Commanders need a RB and have the 7th pick in the draft.

It's interesting that Love is a fan of Daniels, considering the Commanders could realistically draft him. Chris Rodriguez Jr., Jeremy McNichols, and Austin Ekeler are all headed for free agency, and Jacory Croskey-Merritt is the only running back under contract in 2026.
Love would certainly be exciting to watch in Washington. The Notre Dame product rushed for at least 1,100 yards in each of the last two seasons and finished third in Heisman Trophy voting in 2025. A Love/Croskey-Merritt duo would have potential to be among the best in the league, especially playing behind Daniels.
However, the Commanders have a ton of needs, so taking a running back at seven may seem like a luxury pick. Still, it's cool to see how respected Daniels is by players around the league and college stars.
