Man killed after truck collides with car on Hwy. 407

Ontario Provincial Police are investigating after a 37-year-old man died in a two-vehicle crash on Hwy. 407 near Markham.
On Saturday afternoon, cops received reports of a collision involving a transport truck and a passenger vehicle.

An initial investigation revealed that a vehicle had broken down in a live lane on the highway and was later hit by a fuel tanker truck.

A 37-year-old man from Toronto was pronounced dead at the scene.
No additional injuries were reported.
All ramps leading to the westbound lanes of Hwy. 407 at Hwy. 404, Woodbine Ave. and Leslie St., along with northbound and southbound ramps from Hwy. 404 were closed for hours as police investigated. All ramps were reopened early Sunday morning.
Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage is being asked to contact the police.
Man arrested after firearm discharged
A man in his 20s has been arrested after a gun was allegedly discharged inside an apartment early Sunday morning.
At about 6:07 a.m., Toronto Police responded to reports of a person with a gun at an apartment in the area of Weston Rd. and Lawrence Ave. W.
Once inside, cops found evidence of gunfire in a stairwell. No injuries were reported.
A man was arrested, and a firearm was located. The investigation remains ongoing.
Hate graffiti found in Kitchener
Waterloo Regional Police are investigating after hate-motivated graffiti was found at a high school in Kitchener.
At about 8:30 a.m. on Friday, cops received a call about graffiti located inside the school. The writing is believed to have been created within the last three days.
The incident is being investigated as hate-motivated.
